Let them cash in

5. “Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties” (2006)
I enjoyed this Saturday daytime TV viewing of this kids flick. The story is awful, the jokes are thin, the performances are slapstick and a bunch of actors and comics I enjoy made a lot of money. Good for them. I enjoyed Bill Murray as the voice of “Garfield”. Really. He sounded happy and smug, just like Garfield should. I enjoyed seeing Billy Connolly on screen, getting his privates knawed on by multiple dogs. Lucy Davis, the original Dawn from “The Office”, probably made more from her 15 minutes of screen time in this than any critically acclaimed comedy she’s been kind enough to appear in.
I liked “Garfield 2” like Taco Bell at 3am. Sure, it’s cheap and probably offers nothing nutritional, but it doesn’t judge and wants to please.
