6. “The Social Network”
It’s a great film. The story is compelling, the direction was great (David Fincher can do just about anything), the score was haunting (sidenote: Trent Reznor is aging gracefully) and the performances were not annoying. The rowing scene was the best looking sequence of 2010. I hope everything in the film is true. If so it makes me like Zuckerberg a lot.
The film didn’t have any major flaws, just a few small details that took me out of the story. 1. Did Zuckerberg really wear flip flops and shorts to class in the dead of winter? I understand the idea of having to leave somewhere right away because genious struck, but wouldn’t he have dressed appropriately before he left the house? 2. Was the CGI visibible breath necessary? It’s especially odd in the Jewish/Caribbean scene. That’s it. I loved the rest. No joke.
